SEED BEADING STITCHES
Learn about the different types and sizes of seed beads while learning one of the following stitches. Take the class more than once to learn the basics of all of the stitches: Peyote – creates a sturdy, bricklike pattern and has long been associated with Native American beadwork. Brick – commonly found among African and Native American beadwork, this also creates a sturdy weave with many possible variations. Square – the beads sit right next to each other similar to loomwork. Ndebele – also known as herringbone stitch because of the pattern the weave creates, gets its name from the Ndebele tribes of South Africa. This creates a very supple weave that drapes beautifully in bracelets or necklaces. Instructor: Kim Humphrey
